In terms of core components, CRRC said the CR450 EMU prototype traction system uses a permanent magnet motor, which is the first time a permanent magnet motor has been used on China's commercially operated high-speed trains. In the working state, the permanent magnet motor is charged at more than two kV, at 100 revolutions per second, and the power is increased by 14.5%.
Traction motor is one of the nine key technologies of high-speed EMU, and it is also the "heart" of CR450 high-speed EMU. CRRC officials told China Business News that the permanent magnet motor parts are provided by CRRC Yongji Motor Co., Ltd. and CRRC Zhuzhou Motor Co., Ltd.
In fact, before the CR450 prototype train, the new Fuxing high-speed integrated inspection train has already used the permanent magnet traction system. At the same time, the traction motor is equipped with a variety of sensors, the above people, for example, such as the new vibration monitoring sensor, can monitor the temperature of the Fuxing high-speed comprehensive detection of the train operation, to ensure the safety and reliability of the traction motor. China Railway Group told reporters that the individual parameters of the permanent magnet motor suitable for the CR450 EMU prototype vehicle will also be higher than the Fuxing high-speed comprehensive testing vehicle.

According to the data provided by China Railway Group, the weight of CR450 is about 10 tons, which is about 12% less than the existing CR400 Fuxing train; the running resistance and energy consumption are reduced by 20%; the braking performance and traction efficiency increase by 20% and 3% respectively, which increases the operating speed by 50 km to 400 km with the braking distance, noise and 400 km of energy consumption per hour.
Significant progress has been made in the construction of the 400 km / h railway infrastructure technology innovation and the higher speed comprehensive test section, the national railway group said. CR450 EMU has completed the top-level target and overall plan formulation, and entered the construction design and prototype development stage.
Although the CR450 emU prototype is just off the production line, there is no timetable for the commercial operation of the CR450 emU. China Railway Group told China Business News that the CR450 test will be carried out after the prototype train goes off the production line, and the test progress will depend according to the test situation."It is too early to talk about business operations."He said.
